My Birthday Was Amazing This Year!
At the ripe old age of 57 (although I Identify as a 30 year old – hey everyone else is identifying as something they’re not) I am starting to feel the creakiness in the bones. When did this start to happen? It rains out, and on the west coast I better get used to it, and my knees ache until the rain stops. My back always hurts due to a few injuries as a young man and my eyes ain’t what they used to be. Glasses are a fairly new thing.
When I told my wife a few weeks ago I needed a CD/DVD Writer ( i know most people don’t use them but much of our family does) while we were in London Drugs she picked me up a Transcend Model and while I couldn’t find the software they recommend I did get it to work with Windows Media Player so all is good. I can burn CD’s to my hearts content and play them in my DVD player or on my old time CD Boom Box that I bought at MCC Thrift Shop for $8. I have quite the set up in my Home Office with Computer Speakers hooked into my little Boom Box or “Boomer” as I call him.
Truth is that I am VERY frugal and do not need the latest greatest thing. I would rather find things at thrift stores and save money in this consumer driven society we live in. You may laugh but truth is truth.
My wife stopped at our Favorite Little Cheesecake Shop yesterday and wanted to pick me up a piece of Strawberry Cheesecake which is my favorite.
When she got to the front of the line the cashier said “it is already covered.” An Asian lady (I only say Asian because we are not sure if she was Chinese or Korean) in front of her already paid for her so I want to say THANK YOU to that lady. Not that she will ever read this but thank you for buying me an extra special piece of cheesecake and the blessing.
On that subject how about at this time of year we choose to do something special for our fellow man. Whether you are a Believer in the Bible or not please pay it forward.
Buy someone’s coffee or if you see an older couple at a restaurant purchase their meal….if you see someone homeless or hurting bring them a sub or McDonalds. Make someone’s day special with just a random act of kindness.
Many people are one paycheck away from losing everything and people are struggling right now more than I can remember in my 57 years on this earth.
With this blog I hope to give you some insight into my life as someone who works from home and enjoys life. If you want to learn how to work from home send me a message through the contact page and I will be happy to help. I have started this blog several times and was not sure what I wanted to do with it however I decided to move forward with it in a positive way with daily encouragement and just some neat stuff to share.
I will share software that will help you online – mostly free.
